Safe, Simple, Economical!

On close examination, wind power is a great example of an industry that faces a tough training challenge. Industry growth, based on several accounts, outstrips the supply of qualified technicians. Building training facilities for wind technician requires :

  • $1 Million+ in capital
  • a large swath of windy land that is far from urban habitation, and
  •  sending newbies to the top of a 100 foot tower where fires, electrical or mechanical failures could challenge their flimsy knowledge on what to do next. â€‹

We believe the green economy will continue to encounter such training challenges while we simultaneously uncover similar challenges with existing technologies and industries.

Enter Handily, with it's simple Microsoft Kinect and Azure-powered solution. Handily leverages the concept of  embodied learning - Using the body to learn - known to place new knowledge in long-term memory more effectively.

Handily could help companies train a large, geographically dispersed technician workforce to install and maintain a new product being introduced. It could train students on individual as well as group tasks. Handily would assess their skills and offer an objective evaluation to potential employers. In addition, it could also allow multiple students in multiple remote locations to meet a single instructor at a virtual wind farm, share tasks, learn together and prepare for risky eventualities... All of this from the safety of the ground.
