We're starting small but dreaming big.

Yes, the Handily prototype is a puny client application in it's current avatar. It only fulfills a niche role as a tutor and assessor for a very limited set of vocational tasks in one specific industry.  However, our vision is to reach for the sky... The cloud to be precise.

Handily could be used anytime anyone anywhere needs to learn to do a task using their hands, and prove what they've learnt. So whether we're talking about our current areas of focus such as Cleantech and renewable energy or other applications in medicine, the military, and more traditional industries such as automobiles, energy and construction, Handily has a role in concocting a better technician.

To individual students, Handily will offer:

  • An extensive suite of technician training topics to choose from
  • The ability to train with several geographically disparate students and trainers in the same virtual location (Think multiple people from multiple countries installing a solar panel on the same virtual roof).

To companies, Handily will offer:

  • A way to QUICKLY train a large, geographically distributed workforce to install and maintain a new product, especially one where multiple training facilities are unviable (Think wind turbines, for example)
  • A platform that enables them to objectively evaluate candidates while hiring for technician jobs.

Given the distributed nature of theWe see a cloud-based architecture as a must-have to meet this need, and fully expect to be heavy users of Microsoft Azure services.
